Training Wheels

Hi friends!!

I finally started my job last week! I'm still kind of getting into the swing of things, but so far it has been pretty chill, though every day has been really different. I feel less anxious than I typically do about starting a new job, but tomorrow I have safety training/a test which I am a little anxious about. The biggest downside is that I have to get up really early, but I was able to finish my day at 3 p.m. today which was really nice. I won't post too many pics bc digital footprint with logos and stuff I guess, but here's a pic of me under a train on Friday.

Anyway, that has taken up most of my time but this weekend I was able to bop down to CT to visit Kiki! She has been dogsitting a very sweet husky named Jasmine and I got to hang out with her a little. I'm kind of scared of dogs (big ones any way), but I think we got along really well. The only thing that scared me is that she kinda jumped up and pushed me? Kyra said she thinks that Jasmine was trying to establish dominance but also that Jasmine thought we were playmates. She didn't really want to play though, like she wouldn't fetch or do tug-of-war or anything -- we don't know why bc she had a lot of toys -- but she liked running around and kept demanding that we pet her. I'd never met such a clingy dog lol she does not like to be alone at all it made me a little sad because we had to leave at various points. Recently, I think I do not want a dog (too much work and I think I would feel unsanitary having a dog in my house...sorry if that is problematic but it's just my truth....) but I always have fun meeting other peoples' dogs.

Fall weather is pretty much upon us here in New England, and on Saturday it was perfect weather! (High 60s/low 70s, many will disagree but again, this is my truth.) Kyra and I went to this cider mill called Hogan's about an hour north of New Haven. We were up that way any way trying to buy formalwear for a wedding we're going to in a few weeks, and I'm really glad we got to stop in here. We were a little put off by the vibes at first but people were actually really nice -- we started talking to this one lady in line for cider donuts. I think she was really feeling the cider lol because she just kept talking about how much she loved stuff -- cinnamon, pickles, puppies, you name it, but she was really friendly so it was fun. The mill was cute too! Fall makes me really love New England. I know it is basic to say that fall is your favorite season, but recently I realized that is true for me, even though I used to think it was spring.

But back to the point, we got a flight of four ciders to share -- classic, mulled, berry, and pumpkin spice. The pumpkin spice was definitely the worst (kind of musty) and the mulled cider was the best. And the donuts were quite scrumptious as well! A wonderful fall-time adventure, I'm hoping to go do more fall-themed stuff next month too, because I'm sure I'll miss the New England orchards next year :')

we went to the lego store in the mall and made us in lego form plus an OC (guess who's who)

Straight vibes bro 😎. Anyway, I can’t believe you said dogs are dirty! You know a DoG’s MoUTH iS CleANer ThAn a HuMAN’s?!!”. Jkjk, but honestly I think dogs are as clean as you are since they are so dependent on you. So if you’re clean, they’ll be. And if you’re dirty, they will be too 🤷🏾‍♀️. Yeah, I think fall is my second fav season. I just like how things you do in fall is literally catered around the fact that it is fall you know? Like you can lay out in fields in summer or spring, you can stay indoors in all seasons, but fall is the only acceptable time for cider and pumpkin spice and for fall food.…

Your boss seems cool, but he must be a little rusty with his social skills. But it's cool that you're getting the inside scoop of the MTA. And you're right high 60s/ low 70s is perfect fall weather! I just wish those temps would arrive here. I just wanna be cold already lol.

Also, I agree with you. New England is perfect during the fall. The trees are doing their extraordinary foliage, all the foods are fall themed like apple cider everything, pumpkins, squashes, and such. And the weather just cooperates. It's one of the things that I miss about living up there, and ofc you :p

You're making me need to plan a trip to New England ASAP!! I need the good apple cider donies bad. I'm sure it will be a lovely fall here, but I think it will be even truer there.

I'm glad you speak your truth. I feel the same way lowkey about dogs.... I'm sure it's also because I never grew up around dogs, but they seem like a hassle in terms of keeping things clean. I think it's possible, but too much effort for me at this point...Also I agree on the perfect weather <3

I need to hear more about the job! WHAT were you doing under the train like that. They're out here making you a whole mechanical…
