What's up kings. Not a lot of news or fun images this week either. My life has become work all day everyday so I feel like I don't even have a second to think unfortunately.
On Saturday I went to a Halloween party thrown by one of the people in our program. Most of the other people from Smith who are in DC right now went so it was pretty fun in that way, and I like all the people in my program so it was a good time.
It was a costume party so I was Joe Cool from Peanuts. I've always really wanted a Joe Cool sweatshirt but I can never find one, and someone said I could embroider it but I don't know if I have the skill so maybe I'll give that a try during January break or something.
Here's a video of me (warning: TOO lit, just absolutely buckwild)
Then on Sunday I went to go see Fukuoka at the Freer Museum. I had been planning to see this movie for about a month now when I saw they were screening it, since it's a Korean language movie and I'm not really working on my Korean right now, so I feel like I have to take advantage of opportunities to hear Korean when I can. I didn't even realize until the day of, but the director, Zhang Lu, was actually a guest at the screening so there was a Q&A with him after.
And the movie was great! It's a really interesting film because it's directed by a Korean-Chinese director (he's ethnically Korean but 3rd generation Chinese), but the main characters in the film are Korean, but the film is set in Japan, and there's a subplot with a Chinese woman. So you hear all three languages spoken throughout the film - and one of the characters has a kind of special ability where she can understand and communicate with everyone she speaks to in all three languages with equal fluency. So when she speaks Korean to a Japanese person, they understand her perfectly and respond in Japanese, which she can understand perfectly. The film was kind of odd - the director called it "dream-like" which I think is a very apt description - and I really liked it.
That's pretty much all that's been much interesting with me. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how the heck I'm gonna get to Korea next semester (and starting to work on visa stuff) and school and work are both getting more stressful so I'm pretty overwhelmed, but Thanksgiving is kind of soon, right?
I freaking love the Kirby Greg. Incredible Also it’s good that you Like the other people in the program! You were truly joe cool right there. Cooler than any other. I’ll add that movie to my list! It sounds v cool honestly!
Aye Joe Cool! I like those little finger puppet things you got there.
Tehee that Greg Heffley Kirby seems like a nice pal
I don’t like that Kirby/Greg combo, it’s ruining the time-space continuum T-T anyway, I like your vid! It had a lot of cool moves that I wasn’t prepared for
