Posting slightly late today -- not a whole lot of updates this week! I am down in New Haven and studying Korean a little every day. Even though it's only been a week I definitely can feel my rustiness getting better bit by bit. I've gotten better at translating news articles too, I think, even though it's really hard for me. When I think about it, being a translator low-key feels like it would be a dream job, but I'm not so sure I have the kind of brain for it. I always want to just be as literal as possible and then it comes out kind of awkward.

Interlude courtesy of tomato -_- he has grown so much in just a week it's crazy. He's like the size of a small adult cat now, and he's barely 3 months old! We know he's going to be a really big boy. This week, we tried to give him a new treat (one of those like gogurt-style squeeze tubes, but he got really aggressive about it and tried to eat the plastic to get the treat instead of just letting us squeeze it up to him. We're still working on his food aggression. We think he really must have had to fight for food when he was a kitten :/ he's gotten a bit better with not trying to eat our food, but it's still baby steps for now.)
Anyway, I have randomly been getting back into kpop this week. I guess it's as good a ti/m*e * (more tomato edits) to do it as ever hehe, but I decided to buy an NCT kpop album at Target the other day. I don't know this band too well but I've been enjoying watching their performances and I like two guys. It's always fun getting the little freebies the albums come with. And I decided I want to try to go to a Kpop concert in Korea (you know what they say...When in Rome go to Pompi, when in Korea go to Kpop). I'm going to post a little unboxing vid Kyra and I filmed together below.
Other than that, this week I finally got to try New Haven style pizza! This has been on my New Haven bucket list since getting here because it's famous. We went to Sally's Apizza, which was this little diner-vibe place, and there was a line like 6 parties long :0 but we didn't have to wait too much which is good because the November weather has finally started to go chilly. The pizza was really good! We just got a simple mozzarella pizza with basil, but it was very yummy -- and huge! It's known for having thin, charred crust and tbh I don't know if I like it more than other pizza styles, but I definitely enjoyed it!
Okay, that's all for now. 공부해야 돼요~
I feel like I am repeating everything everyone already said, but yeah I love the wild that is within Tomato, he seems like a lot of fun :D I’m glad you’re getting into kpop, I think it’s a good way to practice your Korean! I think NCT are the ones that made Sticker and it was me and Aboni’s ironic jam, we would listen to it and start dying 😂😂 The pizza looks good :0 i knew Lauryn really liked pizza at this one place in New Haven but I didn’t know that it was a speciality—I only ever heard of NY and Chicago pizza!
I love the unboxing, you always buying cool collectibles!!! Also i love the tomato edits as well he really has a lot to say lol
also you should get a photocard holder, i made naoni watch this video with me of a girl showing her collection and there some crazy cute ones XD
tomato seems like a menace! I see cats are like that now, he seems like a handful but fun guy. I like it!
The pizza looks gooood, I think i'd like that style. I don't think i had it when I visited new haven with Lauryn but she's alwasy posting these pics of a certain place there and it looks so delicous
I'm happy that you're studying korean again :D so exciting! and yeah totally gotta see some kpop when you're in korea. you should feel lucky to have the shirtless pic tho. feel grateful. I still don't like boy bands but i'm happy for you nonetheless
