I am Georgia with my friends Naoni and Aboni this week! They're some cool people in case you've never heard of them.
Writing this from my phone so it's going to be a short post hehe. I areived Saturday afternoon, but it feels like I've already been here for days. They say time flies when you're having fun but in this case it seems like time is stretching while we have fun.
But anyway, so far, we have had silken tofu, beef patties, famous boba, pralines, chocolate covered rice krisipie treats, liver, and a southern meal with pork chops, mac n cheese, cornbread, and peach cobbler. I have been very well fed and I'm feeling grateful to have such hospitable friends :')
Unfortunately, it has been raining a lot because of Hurrican Danielle. Yesterday, we went to Dukes Falls in North Georgia and got caught in a crazy thunderstorm after we hiked a mile down to the observation deck. Walking back was kinda hellish, by the end we were basically just walking in puddles because the whole trail was flooded. Still, it was an authentic Georgian experience I was glad to have.
The weather was a bit nicer today and we went to Stone Mountain, the biggest Confederate monument in America....it was kind of weird but it's like a picture of some Confederate generals carved into the side of a mountain. Apparently it's bigger than Mount Rushmore. Aboni and I took a skylift (funicular alert!) to the summit of the mountain to look around. It was quite beautiful all around, but I think I still prefer the Union.
But mainly, it's really fun to get to spend a few days with these guys before they start peace corps. It's crazy that they're gonna be so far away for so long (i guess i will be too), so I'm glad we got a chance to hang out. So,, girls trip next year in Korea or Greece what r we thinkin...?
Not funicular, you mean farknark 😂! But yeah the walk through the rain was very Georgian but at least we were walking back when it started pouring :')))
Also, I agree with you the stretched out time! I felt like by the second day that you have always been here, but that was because we couldn't really do much between the weather and are small cash reserves but hopefully next time you come we can do more in the city and woods T-T but at least we got to eat ourselves silly for those few days (ngl, I think that's the most I have eaten in my entire life 😭 😂 😂
Wowie, I was gonna add some of these pics to my post, but you summarized well our time together the first two days together, lol. But it really did feel like you were here forever...kinda weird that you're gone right now
