Here's Hoping

Alright folks, I think this will be another short post. Apologies for these lazy ones, I'm still kind of low energy, but I am supposed to be leaving for Korea next Tuesday so very soon I should have many more life updates than I currently do!

I registered for classes last week and got nearly the exact schedule I want. The only thing is that I didn't get into the cinema class I really wanted, but I'm the next person on the waitlist so I'm hoping that there is still a chance I can get in during add/drop! For now, though, I am registered for:

- Understanding Kpop

- Korean Food and Culture (which I'm hoping is part-cooking class but the syllabus is kinda vague)

- Traditional Korean Music

Traditional Korean Music is the one I would swap out for cinema but I'm interested in that subject too, so though I will be sad if I don't get to take a film class all should be fine!

The recent rise in coronavirus cases in Korea has bumped up travel advisory levels, but I don't want to dwell on that so I'm just going to keep operating as if I will be leaving in T-8 days (really more like T-7). I'm crazy nervous but it'll be an experience for sure.

On Thursday, I got dinner with Colleen, River, and Meredith! Meredith is another of my friends from high school, and we haven't seen her for a while because she did a stint working for a restaurant in Wyoming! Now she's back working for a new place in Boston, so this was the first time that we got to see her after she got back :^)

I told them to look judgmental

Meredith had work in the morning so she called it an early night but Colleen, River, and I were being degenerate as always so we got snacks and decided to do a Popin Cookin candy kit (hamburgers and fries this time) and make a tiktok.

Comment below which fighter you would choose :0

(The hamburger popin cookin is very disgusting by the way 0/10 do not recommend)

On Saturday, I went into Boston to hang around Newbury Street with Colleen. Newbury Street is the big shopping street in Boston; it's super bougie and it's fun to go and people watch because all these fancy looking people walk by and and I always find that funny for some reason.

Anyway, we went to this sushi place and then mostly just window shopped. Ever since my local Uniqlo closed (still mourning that loss), going to Uniqlo is so much more of an event, and I wanted to get colored socks, which was partially the reason we went to Newbury Street in the first place, so the mission was overall successful and it was a nice day.

Then today, the weather was unseasonably nice in Massachusetts! Almost 60 degrees (Fahrenheit, I know you guys are going European on me now), so I went out for a quick bike ride. My bike definitely needs to have some work done (it's a hand-me-down from my mom that's got to be maybe 15 years old) so I might try to see what I can do this summer to fix it up - not that I have any prior experience on that front. Also, I realized how physically idle I've been these past few months because I just rode around my neighborhood (like 2.5 miles total) and I thought I was going to be sick...I guess I'm not surprised since I haven't really exercised much since summer but, uh, still a bit of a let down.

Oh well, my goal is to be able to bike to Dedham Square from my house, but that's about a 7 mile ride so we shall simply have to start exercising again.

Anyway, I'll hopefully write a more interesting post next week. I am planning to see Portrait of a Lady on Fire next week which I am very excited about!

been thinking about this celia marquis comic a lot recently, feels like i'm not doing much but i'm so overwhelmed, wish life were a bit more minimalist

I’m with Rachel: I would choose River. Plus the fact that they still use Tumblr created a parasocial relationship between us 😂😂. And I like the little comic, it’s cute and 100% relatable
