Quick post this week, because I am lazy.
So you may have guessed based on the title, that I will be starting my study abroad in South Korea next week, but in fact I will not! So who's going to be in Korea next week? Probably Bong Joon Ho (much to his pleasure) and many other people, but not this gal right here.
Basically, because of the Coronavirus, a lot of Korean universities and primary/secondary schools are temporarily closed or delaying their semesters completely. Yonsei decided to push back their semester two weeks, which means my program does not start until March 3rd now (technically the 4th, but I have to fly out the 3rd to get there on time). I just found out on Friday and people have been scrambling to get everything adjusted. To be honest, it's been pretty stressful, rescheduling flights and such, and it messes up my summer plans a little bit, so for now I'm just hoping that nothing happens to delay me again.
It's pretty shocking to me that a university would delay their semester, but it's probably because Korea has a lot of Chinese international students and there's a total travel ban on China in Korea right now. My mom and I were just talking about what would happen if a university in the US tried to do something like this (not necessarily for Coronavirus, but for any disease) and we think people would lose their minds in rage.
So in case you're loving the Massachusetts-based posts, don't worry, you're still in luck. I'll be representing the East Coast until March 3rd now.
Last night was the Oscars! I tweeted many thoughts because I always get too into what's happening. The main point is that Parasite won Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, Best International Feature, and Best Director (for Bong Joon-Ho). Truly the best film of 2019 and I am so glad it got that! Seeing Park Sodam, one of the film's actresses, on stage completely took me out in the best way. Also apparently the interpreter who's been translating for them throughout the awards season (Sharon Choi) is a director who's planning to work on a film about Awards Season, I cannot wait.
Other than that, I got these fun experimental lenses for my camera the other week, and tested them out with River and Colleen. They were really cheap so they're not the best quality but they're very fun, and tomorrow we're going to play around with them a bit more.
Peace out, folks.
Click bait!!!
Also omg I’m sorry your stuff is delayed it seems stressful! I’m glad you are managing!
Omg these lens are pretty cool! I actually think the fish eye one: it looks the best. It has a retro feel to it more than it being a bad lens. And why didn’t you mention anything about the Joker and its awards and how Joaquin quoted his bro @-@
Right
The title actually really got me
Oh no erin씨 maybe bad news doesn’t travel fast because I had no idea this would happen but I guess it makes sense and it’s good they’re taking it seriously. But yeah, in america people would be so mad. I wonder how mad Koreans are? That’s crazy you won’t be going until March :( I hope it’s not too too stressful! 화이팅 ! I’m quite pleased with the Oscar results as well! I’m glad I caught Jojo rabbit soon enough. Like wow, for once the winners seem deserving?! (Well honestly idk about other years but I know people are rarely satisfied ) I like those filters, I want to use them too
