I'm back now, and I haven't got a whole lot to say I find.
Last week, I met up with a few other people who are also going to Korea to do Ful****** next year who are in the Boston area. We hung out in the city around Newbury Street and went to a Korean restaurant for dinner. The people were really nice so I'm looking forward to meeting more of them during orientation next year, even though I'm getting big social anxiety about meeting a lot of new people.
Kyra is getting ready to move to New Haven at the end of this month, which is really crazy to think that our time together in Boston is coming to a close so soon. We went to her parents house to drop off some boxes of stuff on Tuesday, and I got to hang out with her parents' cats. They found this really sweet kitten named Percy last year who is very friendly :D He kept playing with my feet and toes though...i guess cats and dogs can get along after all.
Proof of Percy's foot obsession and Percy biting me...first they're sweet, then they're sour -_-
But anyway, because Kyra is leaving soon, we are making plans to check off stuff from her Boston/Massachusetts bucket list before we leave, so I'm excited to hit up some places we've always wanted to go. We went to Time Out market in Fenway this week. It's kind of hipster-y but it's basically just a building with a handful of (overpriced) Boston restaurants. We did rocks-paper-scissors to decide who would pick the food for our appetizer, meal, and dessert, but I kept losing and Kyra got mad at me for being back at RPS so she made me pick the meal lol. For an appetizer we got pita and dips, and I tried haloumi cheese for the first time -- very scrumptious cheese, would recommend! And then for a meal I picked chicken + fries that had this sweet honey sauce and a yuzu dip we really liked. For dessert, we got donuts from this place Union Square Donuts I have always wanted to try, but tbh they were not my favorite. They were yummy and all but I kind of don't like when places do "gourmet donuts," I think a donut ought to just be simple, you know what I mean? When it gets too fancy, it stops being a donut.
Afterward, we walked to the Keleher Rose Garden because it is rose season. I would recommend this Boston spot to any of you girlies looking to make a Boston trip soon ;) (comeeee) It's just a little rose garden but a cute spot that's usually not too crowded.
It was fun walking around Fenway for a day. I don't usually hang out there much these days, and it reminded me of when Caitlin was living in Boston and I would go hang out with her and sometimes Karina around BU. We even passed the Star Market that Caitlin and I got watermelon from for our competition back in the day.
Anyway, that's about all I can think of to talk about this week. I've been reading a lot and trying to practice saxophone again. Hopefully, I'm gonna start a summer internship soon but I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch so we shall see!
I am disturbed by your title 😭 I thought it would be about it raining hard in Mass not a cat being obsessed with thoooose dogs T_T
Anyways, I can't believe Massachusetts hasn't had a Love's before, that's wild :00 but you indeed have to go and take a shower there (love's showers hit diff). And the roses are so pretty! Mass is such a haven in summer 😻
Also I thought for a second you were saying RPS as in role player shooting but I realized it was rock paper scissors. You guys got a good system tho, rock paper scissors is the way to go to make any decision. But I am sad y'all's time is coming to…
I love that Mass has a Love's now, truly an essential for any road trip. Moreover, the food you ate looks super yummy. Truly living the summer I want T_T...but I'm sorry that Kyra is leaving so soon and I hope that your time together will be wholesome and fun :)
