Candy is Delicious Food

Whoopsi :') I actually wrote a post for Monday but then I lost my wallet and everything kind of fell away. But I shockingly was able to find it at a lost and found on Tuesday so now I'm posting hehe.

This week's post below

First of all,

I did not get a chance to add photos last week because I was dealing with some annoyances with my Smith account, but I was just able to transfer ownership of those photos, so I’m just going to post my wedding pics here before I start this week’s post!

Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Kyra and I got popovers and tiramisu from a cafe called Popovers, pictured below.

Portsmouth waterfront!

Images of Dover, NH. We really liked this candy shop Lickees and Chewys

Wedding photos :) Okay new post incoming

This weekend, I went down to New Haven for a couple of days to hang out with Kyra and new roommate Tomato! What we learned is that Tomato goes crazy when he sees me. Kyra has been telling me for weeks now that Tomato is a very chill and sweet cat, especially compared to his brother Bean who is a menace according to Kyra’s friend who adopted him. Kyra said he usually sleeps through the night and spends most of the day just cuddling up to her while she works. But the second I got there this cat just went bananas. Every couple hours he would wake up in the night and climb up on the bed to play with me, attacking my feet and hands and running all around me. He was just playing, like he never actually bit me or scratched even when he was grabbing my fingers, but it was wild. He was also obsessed with my shoes, and he kept getting into the crook of my arm and smelling my armpits which I did not enjoy. Idk what it was about my pheromones, but he went crazy. We are wondering if he will be normal now that I am not there or if I just unlocked his rebellious child years.

Mr. Crazy Man

He liked Over the Garden Wall :')

Kyra thinks he sees her as Mom and me as another cat. It’s just like when she was dogsitting and the dog kept playfully attacking me even though she never did that to Kyra. Anyway, I like Tomato but it’s funny how different his dynamic was with me versus Kyra.

Another thing we did this weekend is go to the Essex Steam Train Company. I can’t remember how I found out about this but basically it is a historic train in Central Connecticut that you can ride, and this week was their last week of the season. I had been wanting to go leaf-peeping this year, so we signed up for their final weekend. It was a lot of fun! I have been to a couple of trolley museums before, and they are usually pretty small, but we were impressed by how large this place seemed to be. The train ride was an hour long and we got to sit in a real 1920s steam engine that is powered by coal (we felt a little awkward when they said how much coal was going to be burned by our trip, carbon footprint and all that, but ah well). It went along the Connecticut River and there was an optional ferry ride, but it was kinda expensive so we decided to just do the train part. In two years, I really want to go again in the summer and do the ferry ride and rail bikes. Going to these little local museums is always a blast and I’m excited to explore more stuff that Connecticut has to offer, because even if I am a Connecticut hater at heart, I think there are fun things to do just about everywhere. We were surprised by how crowded the train was – there was even a wedding happening at the station – but honestly, it was so cute so it makes a lot of sense.

We really liked this sign in the gift shop. (Candy is Delicious Food: Enjoy Some Every Day!!)

Anyway, I think that’s about it in terms of my updates this week. I’m just finishing up my job and trying to get started on all the clearances and prep I need to do before going you know where come January. We are a little stressed in the group chat because of a lack of information, but seeing Aboni make it to Cambodia I am pretty excited for what’s next. Talk to you guys soon :^)

asleep after a long day of harassing me

Lol Tomato sounds funny, I think the pic of him upside down I think encompasses the chaotic energy you were talking about that he has around you 😂 And this train thing sounds so nice :00 I wish America had more trains T-T
