There's so many things I wish I could do! But also, I know that I still have time to do most of them :) We have a lot more time in this life, even though it can feel like it's too late.
Just as a little reflection (mostly as a reminder to myself, but hopefully it can encourage you too), it can be easy to get discouraged when learning a new skill. You see other people who do it so flawlessly, even kids. Right now I'm thinking of learning new languages and instruments. But you have to remember that, while yes, a kid's mind is more plastic and receptive to new skills, they practice years and years before getting to a certain level. Sometimes I start something new and want to be good right away, but that's just not realistic! You have to just go slow and make sure you're learning the basics correctly :)
That being said, some things I've wanted to do for a long time (and hopefully will have time to in the future) are:
- Learn to do figure skating tricks
- Along the same lines, roller skating tricks
- Play harp and violin
- Hold a conversation in Korean
- Knit sweaters with cool pictures and original designs. Or learn how to weave them??
One of my recent pastimes has been looking at vintage sweater brands, and I think it's cool how unique some of them are and how rare they seem to be (ie not being made anymore and impossible to find duplicates of online). I'm obsessed with the boulangerie one, but this one was sold and I can't find it anywhere else. Please tell me if you see :) I know some of you would say they're ugly, but I admire the craft, and hopefully one day I'll be skilled enough to realize some of my ideas!
I told myself that if I ever find myself living in Montreal, then I must take ice skating lessons. I know you can technically do that lots of other places, but I just have this notion that if I'm there at some point, it has to be done. I know how to ice and roller skate already, but I always think that people who can do tricks (even simple ones) look so cool :D
you are so right Rachel :) we do have time
those sweaters are SO cute. especially the moomin one and the boulangerie one. I get a lot of ads for knitted sweaters on insta and pinterest and they're beautiful but expensive. but if you made them I would definitely buy one. I didn't know you could weave sweaters but weaving is a really cool art form. in denmark there was this castle that had a ton of weaved tapestries and they were amazing so I imagine weaved sweaters would be nice too.
I could imagine you playing the harp or violin
Your goals seem so cool! Knitting? Harp? Skating tricks??? I believe in you tho, you got this! Also, the boulangerie sweaters are pretty cute, ngl ;)
Wowie ! Thanks for the reminder and roller skating tricks was one of my girls, but quit since I’m so clumsy lol. But yeah keep up the good work kid i know you can do it ! If you start knitting sweaters I’ll definitely place an order :))
