I don't have one best memory, but a memory that I've been thinking about a lot lately is the time me, my brother and my dad had our own olympics. It was summer and we were bored, so we set up a bunch of different activities around the house and then competed to see who was the best collectively. We had a marble tournament where we set boundaries and tried to hit marbles out of those boundaries kind of like table shuffleboard, we did a couple of rounds of bowling using a mini bowling set, and we played that fishing game that I think I told you guys about on the stairs. The tournament took place over the course of a few days and it was serious business. We were not only competing for the "winner" title but we all really wanted to win the "Seng¹ Cup", which was essentially a glass bottle that we labeled "The Seng Cup". I don't remember who ended up winning but it was probably my brother because he has a knack for those sort of things.
If you could not already tell (from this post and my previous ones), I long for the past a lot. I'm not really sure why though because it wasn't a simpler time, but I guess in retrospect it tends to feel that way. But the reason I picked this memory is because my dad said something about it a couple of weeks ago and until then I completely forgot about it. Though I wish I wasn't so forgetful sometimes it's nice to re-remember something, especially if it's a good memory.
¹Also I realized my last name is already all over the blog because of my own doing, so I might as well just use it.
what a cute memory! So creative! Did you ever watch the office? This reminds me of an episode where they have an office olympics. Doing something like that now would be a good way to spend the day
Your Olympic sounds so cute! I love that your dad even participated. But this post reminds me of that convo we had about how when we were younger, our parents never really indulged in buying toys so we often had to make our own fun (though, your fun seems more wholesome than the fun my sisters and I were creating).
Lol, i like the seng cup. Reminds of a carnival and stores my sisters and I use to set up growing up, but it was much more capitalistic lol. Yeah, but the past does it because you can always see things more clearly when you’re not in the midst of it though.
