Thanksgiving over in the blink of an eye

I'm back in the Big Apple, and it was a nice sejour in Dallas last week. Thanksgiving day we visited my grandma's crypt (idk if that's the right word but it's inside so not a grave and not cremated....). The lunch was at my aunt's house, and it was really yummy! It was fancy too, and I was really into the charcuterie (minus the cheese).

[interesting family picture isn't it]

[what a fulfilling Thanksgiving plate, jk Mary just stopped getting food while we prayed then got the rest after XD got ya there didn't I]

Since my cousins arrived, we watched the new Netflix series, Wednesday. We liked it a lot! As far as Netflix shows go (especially ones based on older/non original media), it was really done well in my opinion. I mean, not perfect, but fun to watch with other people for sure. The Friday after Thanksgiving, we saw this new Disney movie called Strange World. I must be out of the game or something because I had no idea this movie was being made/released. Maybe the advertising wasn't too good or something... or is it me ?! It was a cute movie. It reminded me of Onward if you guys have seen that. There was also a trailer shown for an upcoming Pixar film called Elemental that I'm very interested in seeing. For a while there wasn't anything out I wanted to see, but in the coming months there are several things!

The rest of my stay in Dallas was just chill type things, nothing major. I didn't make much of an effort to do anything in particular, but I didn't really have the energy to do so. That's okay though. Several nights, I watched horror movies with Uncle Philip. We saw Watcher (not the same as the new series The Watcher), Barbarian, and It Follows. They were all pretty good in my opinion. They are the type of horror movies I'm learning I can appreciate, which are more eery/thriller/suspense/psychological than gore/jump scares/shock. I also liked having a little cafe gourmand moment while watching with some coffee and pie :)

[By the end of our stay, there were 3 gingerbread structures at my grandpa's house. This was the only one I helped with, but isn't it cute? The letters were for the characters from Wednesday if you couldn't tell. There was also a funny Target gingerbread set (like it was from Target and was in the shape of a Target store) and Mary made a while little village at her friend's house. ]

Sunday, I had a 7am flight with Mary, so we left super early. That was good though because it gave me most of the day to unwind from the travels before going back to work on Monday. I do feel more relaxed and ready to take on things at work, so it was a good week. I'm still sleepy, but I think I'm having a good-ish routine. I can hardly believe it's almost December :'). Like my week of break, this year has been flying past in the blink of an eye.

With Christmas season upon us, I feel like December will go by like that as well. I have fun plans with Mary for Christmas! We are staying in New York. I'm sad I won't be with my my parents and other siblings too, but I think New York Christmas can be cool to experience.

The family pic is an interesting one 😭😂😂 but it sounds like you had a nice petit reposé :))) I like the gingerbread too, it’s cute or whateva But that’s what I am saying about horror movies!! I feel like people only imagine cheesy slasher films or movies that are just filled with jumpscares, but rarely ever ominous or eerie movies. I love horror movies and think they deserve more acknowledgement and attention 💁🏾‍♀️ And ik you and your sis will make the most out of winter in NYC :))
