Hellooooo team!
I’m going to try to make this post short because I’m currently on a bus to Boston and I’m very car sick. I usually get motion sickness when I try to read or write on a moving vehicle, so I guess you could say I did this to myself, but we are doing a lot of stop and go driving so who really knows.
Last weekend, I went to a Sarah Mclachlan concert with my family. She’s the lady that sings Angel–the song used in the ASPCA commercials. I’m kind of sad that a lot of people only know her for these ads, but then I remember that she probably makes so much royalty money off of them that it doesn’t even matter. Hearing her live was super cool. She played with the NYC Pops backing her up, which was amazing. I don’t know what music genre she falls into but her voice is really operatic. More than anything, her performance was impressive because of how good her vocals are. I don’t usually get emotional over things like this but for some reason her performance just got to me. I guess maybe it’s because she’s someone I grew up listening to. It was also at Forest Hills Stadium, which is a pretty small venue so it felt very intimate. And it was cool because the crowd ranged a lot in age and there were a lot of couples who just seemed so happy.
On Sunday, my dad and I went with some relatives to see a Yankee game. I haven’t watched baseball in a while, but I was still excited to go because the Yankees were playing the Red Sox and there’s a big rivalry between the two teams. Anyways, when we got to the stadium someone who works there notified our relatives that we had gotten an upgrade in seats. Since it was free, we ended up taking it. Then, they sent some guy named Matt to come collect us and he brought us all the way down to field level. We ended up sitting in the first row right behind 1st base. The best part was that the everyone down there gets free access to this buffet-styled restaurant where they have everything from pasta to sushi. It was truly a wild experience. And the Yankees won!
@nrosemond the game ended up being p long. I think it was almost 3 hours. I know dude. if I went to Red Sox game in my yankee gear that'd be it for me
@ Erin Walsh the acoustics were surprisingly good for it being an outdoor stadium. I think it's because it's pretty small
@abonirosemond please get a utensil holder
@Rachel E Yes she is like Celine Dion!! And I just saw Aboni's post where you are wearing what I think is the pink shirt and I thought the same thing. We can twin now...maybe we should get ebwalsh one for the trifecta effect
Woah those seats for the baseball game sound so cool!! Rip to the Red Sox 😞 And I'm really curious about the acoustics at the Sarah Maclachlan concert :o Forest hills stadium is so considerate,, but wow a big vacuum that's crazy
