Hello all, it’s 12:08 am here which thankfully is not the end of Wednesday in Massachusetts. However, I am thoroughly spent (in French you can say, je suis HS, for hors de service (out of service)) so I m writing this on my phone and it won‘t be that developed. But as the lone standing blog member who hasn’t gotten a demerit, I’ve got a reputation to uphold and I’m not taking the L just yet!
Here’s some stuff from the last week:
friday
marina and the diamonds concert?!?! I didn’t find anyone who could go to this with me, but I’m happy that I bit the bullet and ventured to do it on my own. I’ve never been to a concert alone and the ones I’ve been to can have the tendency to give me anxiety, so needless to say I was a bit nervous. Not gonna lie, that evening I was low key debating not going. But I went and I’m glad I did! Marina hasn’t performed in Paris in 4 years so it really was an opportune moment to be here. She‘s On tour for the latest album she released so obviously those were the songs she performed. I was happy though because she also included a good mix of stuff from her previous 3 albums!! Those were definitely my favorites because of how nostalgic they are. I saw her in 8th grade and that was also the time when she was my number one fav artist. Also, the opener was really cool! She’s called Allie X, and I’d never heard her stuff before. One that she performed, Casanova, has been on repeat for me now though!
Afterwards I was just going to go home but the concert actually ended somewhat early for a Friday night. Looking for something else, I ended up joining Malika at a bar/club with her cousin and her cousin’s friends. They were all super nice and cool and this was the first time I had a really fun time at one of these places!

Saturday
I went to a flea market with Ejona and her visiting friend Lila around midday! Her friend was super cool and so was the market! This is a bigger one I think and rather than temporary booths like I’ve seen before, this one had actual stalls which was neat and different. I definitely saw some cursed objects, but they really had it all :-0 for all of the stuff there is, I wonder how these people came across/into such a mass of belongings. Like there are what must be thousands of pages of meticulously laid stamps but now they’re being sold??
Afterwards, I met up with Malika. Originally the plan was to go to Musée d’Orsay, but I was bad at timing and we ended up not coming in time for it to be worth it. Our second plan was to check out Champs-Élysée which the both of us had neglected to do yet! It’s very touristy but it was nonetheless a fun time. I got to try Ladurée macarons followed by McDonalds for a number of times i don’t want to admit. Everything on the boulevard is pretty expensive but nevertheless I always enjoy looking a bit.
The end of the night was interesting.... we searched desperately for nearby pizza. One place is allegedly the best pizza in the world but it was a tiny hole in the wall and the wait was way too long. We settled for a random italian place that was probably the 5th try! It was a pretty empty yet peaceful. UNTIL a group of middle age adults came in. They were fun and got the restaurant owner to whip out the disco mood lights and karaoke. Me and malika were like ...ok,..?? But also I thought it was fun. It was even more fun when later they offered us a glass of wine as an apology for being so loud. They proceeded to let us pick a karaoke song, to which I responded Mamma Mia and then I Want to Dance with Somebody. They gave us pastiche then and it was a nice moment :-) I felt like it was ok a scene in a movie ! It’s funny because all this happened right as we were about to leave. You never know where things will go 😌
Sunday I just did work and grocery shopping with Ejona! Monday was armistice day I believe so there was no class!!! I really needed the opportunity so I could finish an essay. But other than that I don’t think I did much.
Pictures to come!!

waaooww those karaoke men sound like a good bunch :^)
the marina concert looks super cool! Teen Idle was an anthem for me in 9th grade for sure. And I'm glad that you decided to go in the end, I still feel a lil awkward going out to eat or go to the movies by myself but i'm starting to get more confident doing it.
Also I hate that that flea market has a bin of identical blonde dolls
Reading your adventures are sooo fun!! Especially your bar story, it really does sound like a scene from a movie!
