So as you guys may remember I didn't post on Friday 😬. I was in a car on my way to our nation's capital and I was like "hey you know what, this is not happening" and proceeded to take the L. However, I cannot blame this on my car sickness–it was an active choice. Now, I must honor the rules of our sacred blog.
My punishment was to do the Gangnam Style dance in a public place, which tbh was a good choice because I hate dancing. The whole time I was doing it I was like this is the type of video that would resurface/haunt me if I ever become a politician. Good thing I don't want to be one of those.
Yesterday, which was when I filmed this, it was pretty chilly so there weren't that many people downtown. I tried my best to get peoples' attention but they didn't seem to care too much. Also I just want to say for the shot in Hillyer there were a lot of people and they all stared at me but they sadly did not make it into the shot 😢. What can I say, that's Hollywood for ya. Anyways, here it is:
I may be smiling on the outside but I can assure you I was not smiling on the inside lol. This is the Michael Phelps face I was referring to in the video. It's him from the Rio Olympics.
Here are some quick fire updates from my week:
- Over Fall Break 🍂 me, Caitlin, Anna and Julianne went to DC to visit the one and only Erin Walsh. Anna drove. She drove for 9 straight hours. She's such a queen!! By the 9th hour on the way there, Anna and I were very delirious. But eventually, we got there safe and sound. Our Airbnb was so nice. The lady who owns the Airbnb, Ayuk, was so hospitable. She had a bunch of fruit for us to eat and gave us a gift when we left.
- While in DC, we went to the National Postal Museum! In the museum, there was a section where we were allowed to take used stamps. We had a lot of fun there.
- Erin also introduced me to Mr. Zip (Code) and Mr. Zap
Here are some other cool things we saw there:
On left: a truck in the museum that people were allowed to sit in. On right: a wall of newspapers. According to that exhibit, newspaper companies (The Post, The Courier) were named after the ways in which they were delivered. So The Post was delivered by the Post.
- Facilities came to fix my shade the other day and they told me that I'm not supposed to let the shade go up but then the facilities man noticed how short I am and said he would make me a longer string lol. Then, as soon as they left my shade fell for a third time and killed Ernie–a different one of my plants. Bert survived but now he's friendless :(
Okay that is all for now! Talk to you guys sooooon 🙃
You deserve so much credit for that video.
That video is the reason I am still breathing.
Emma I respect you so much for this and the active choice part hahaha I think Gangnam style in addition is a really bad dance to have to do Wowwww you really put a lot of effort into this ! The editing is 💯 Woah the section where you can take stamps is really cool!! And mr zip ofc The shades story sounds like some complications Karina was having early second year. Those Smith shades man You guys are so cute!!
Teheh nice video >:)
rip Ernie :-(((
also watching this video was almost like a punishment for me, i was thinking about how much i would not have enjoyed doing that in public. i am so impressed by the dedication that you put in. The cinematography, the multiple locations, the dancing prowess...this film is incredible and your commitment to atone for your blog sin is so clear. Oppa Gangnam Style indeed, soldier.
