New Year’s Day 2020

Going through everyone’s post, I now realize what Naoni meant when she said that my posts were too long so sorry! I’ll keep it briefer from now on. But I like to make it long because I consider this blog also like a diary and when I look back on things I like as much detail as I can bear writing. But also this post is one to ring in the new year so forgive me if it’s long!

But anyways, to state the obvious.... Happy New Year everyone!!!! It’s 2020, isn’t that beautiful?

Past

Overall, I have to say that 2019 treated me well. I’ve experienced major changes in my life in several aspects. I’ve also tried a lot of new things! I don’t regret any of them. When I think back, every month brought something new. Challenges, inevitably, but joy. I think I had a good balance of being busy but also doing things I enjoy. I really can’t say that for every year so don’t think I just feel this way in retrospect no matter what went down that year.

Present

I’ve been in Germany with Kristiana and her family the past few days! As I’m writing this post early, I’m not sure what’s in store for New Year’s but I think it’ll be fun. Kristiana lives in a small town and the closest well known city is Nuremberg. I like it here though. We just relax mostly and eat :-) both of her parents cook a lot! tomorrow we’re going into the city though. We went onto an army base and it’s bizarre to see somewhere so American in the middle of Europe. We saw Little Women! And despite my hesitations, I think it was really well done. I really love the story and I can say that Greta didn’t do it dirty. I liked the way she shook it up a bit but in a way true to the original. As I grow older, it’s surprising to me how my feelings towards certain characters change. I understand more where certain ones are coming from (Amy 👀) and why certain relationships were formed. Living in Massachusetts, albeit temporarily, it also brings a special feeling to the film! One part they’re like, “things are changing! Now they have women’s colleges” and me and Kristiana shared a knowing look :-) Now when we’re just doing stuff around the house we’re like, we’re little women !I like being with a family, and I’m also excited to go back to Paris and not have school to worry about.

Future

2020 will be an important year! I hope that it has good things in store for us (how bout them elections?). I’m truly very excited for all of you to go abroad!! We’ll really be a worldly blog soon enough. I have lots of resolutions and intentions for the new year and I hope I can keep some if not all of them. Here are some:

-keep up with the blog!

-wear my retainer every night

-write in my journal every day

There are more but also I can’t make too many things! Or none will be realized
