Not much has changed since last week. I was in Tours the whole week and we came back to Amiens on Monday. We had some yummy food in Vieux Tours and it's really feeling like summer this past week. It's getting into too hot territory and there's no air conditioning .... Like so far it's alright but it better not get hotter. Since then, it's just been a relaxed time. I was happy because last week I was able to finish a longer book (477 pages!) in a few days. It was Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I've never read her novels before and if you like fiction and stories then I would definitely recommend. I like the way she writes and describes things and at no point during the book did I feel bored. I mean, it's ok to feel bored at parts when you're reading a book, maybe that's the intention of the author even. But personally I don't want to be struggling to keep my mind focused, ya know.
On Sunday, I saw my friends graduate <3 congratulations! It's been a long time coming but they got there :D
[blurry erin씨 alert]
My cardigan is pretty much finished! It's a little shorter than I would have liked and also I don't think the material is suited for the summer, so I'll probably wear it come fall. That will give me time anyways to do the finishing touches. Otherwise I started a top I can actually hopefully wear sooner.
[what I got so far and what it's supposed to be at the end]
I'm planning to come back to the US at the end of June (my visa expired May 15, but I'm on a tourist visa now....90 days anyone :D). My friend, Kenzie, and I are looking for a place in New York right now. It's a little stressful but I'm not too too stressed about it *yet*. I'm pretty confident we'll be able to find something. It's also just a bit difficult trying to nail something down with neither of us being in the city to do visits. Mary and my uncle were nice though and said they could visit if need be. Stay tuned to see how it all pans out!
As the move to New York approaches, I'm excited and nervous. I'm very excited to finally be able to live there and be near so many of my good friends. I'm nervous to be in a new place though and have to do more *adult* things. This year has been good for me to practice lol. Like living with H, I feel like I have responsibility but the burden of everything isn't solely on me so it gave me room for learning. I'm also nervous to figure out how to find work/life balance. As of now I know I'll have the whole 9 to 5 but also I want to get serious about the MCAT which will be evenings and weekends potentially. I also have one more class to take -_-" (physics tutors better help me! lol) and want to either do volunteering in a hospital or scribing. It'll be a lot :/ But I think being back in the US will allow me to be in that mindset.
Anyways, those are some of the things going through the ol' noggin at the moment. On Friday, my mom is coming to Paris and on Saturday, Stephanie will be joining as well! I have a whole detailed itinerary and I'm excited to be able to share what I know about the city with them :)
Good luck with the move and finding a place!! To me, you guys seemed so adult this past year, and it will probably be very busy but im sure you'll settle into your routine like when you were in school again.
Hope u and your family are having a blast in paris 😍
That’s crazy!!! You’re gonna be mad bz in NYC, but a fun kind of busy tho. Studying for the MCAT seems scary and daunting but also interesting cuz it’s like now you are familiar with everything and it’s lowkey all kind of interesting especially since it is specifically geared towards something. Anyways, I’m so excited for your sis and mom to visit, you guys are gonna have a ton on fun. Hopefully you are just a 90 day visitor, not a 90 day fiancé yet 👀
No yeah, but you won't be completely alone right? You're gonna have roommates, no? But being an adult is stressful for sure, but I think you're prepared for it! And it sounds like you're going to be STUPID busy once you start working! I hope you'll continue to take care of yourself and still talk to us ;)
