(Lego) Muppets Take Manhattan

The main event this past week was a visit in town from Erin-she and Kyra! They stayed over at my place, and it was fun to have them and hang out more. The weather has shifted as quickly as the nice fall weather came, and all I can say is that is is dreadfully dreary. The past 3 days have been rain and cold :( and I have been feeling a little sick from it. It's supposed to lighten and brighten up tomorrow hopefully though.

Erin already recounted much of what all went on, so I think this week I'll focus on pictures and add little comments here and there.

Friday: Erin and Kyra arrived and we had some yummy ramen. I've been in a ramen mood lately, which is somewhat unusual for me. I think the warm soup is enticing with the weather changes. We also got some ice cream after from Van Leeuwen. Mary's ice cream is supposed to look like Earth :0 Van Leeuwen is good, but for me it's not worth the hype.... not bad though. When we got to my apartment, Kyra encouraged Erin to help me put up my string lights. I couldn't, and I was just waiting for a tall friend to come along and help a girl out. Now the vibes in here are 1000x better.

Saturday: The next day was a hodgepodge of things around the city. We ate a lot of yummy food! We didn't even have to go to the world of Coke since the soda shop we went to had all these different Coke bottles. I took a financial L by buying a slice of cake in the Upper East Side that costed $15 (I didn't know the price until she said it :( ). And we had Korean fried chicken I was really into.

We also went to the Cooper Hewitt Design Museum with Kyra's med school friend whose mom is a curator there. I thought it was a cute museum, and it was interesting talking to Kyra's friend about medical school.

Before dinner that day we went to some shops, notably the fifth avenue Lego store.

Erin was really nice and offered me, Mary, Zach, and Emma some doubles she had of these Muppet Legos she's been trying to collect. I had first dibs and took Miss Piggy shhhh

[my newest Sonny angel is the apple, very new york city appropriate]

Sunday: The last day, we met up with the one and only, Emma! I still haven't seen so many New York buddies despite being here a couple of months already. So it was really nice to see what has been up in Emma world. It was funny because when looking for a cafe, we picked somewhere near where she works by accident. But I thought it was a nice cafe :)

We told Emma she should post once and a while, and she said she might!!

Afterward, we all went to a bookstore, then Erin and Kyra had to skedaddle. Emma, Mary, and I went to an art supply store and Daiso after, where I was encouraged to buy this grid rack thingy for my room. I think it was a nice addition, so I appreciate the encouragement.

Monday I tried to get my Covid booster, but basically I came on time and everything, but in the end the didn't do it -_-. There was a problem with how my appointment was input and yeah..... It was a bit annoying since I went all the way there, but in the end it's whatever. I just scheduled somewhere else for later this month. These Legos were on the wall of where I went at least :D

It's a bit nonstop because this weekend I will be having some other special guests! More on that next week though ;)
