La France, corona?

So I went to Paris for the weekend and realized that the bus I was taking came from Milan, so strike number one against me protecting myself from catching the corona. And the thing is I don't care about catching I worry about sharing it and potentially being the reason everyone has to go home T_T. But I got 2 weeks to find out, I'm feeling slightly under the weather, but I am hoping it's because I am getting my period soon and spring is starting (which makes me sick). Anyway I arrived in Paris and had to wait on Rachel for 30 minutes after she promised me she would be on time I was so sad and scared especially since I don't have service literally anywhere in Europe. But she arrived nonetheless and as soon as we walked outside she got pooped on :0. She blames me, but honestly it's a sign of good luck and with all the pigeons in Paris I'm honestly surprised that it hadn't happen sooner.

We then went to her cozy home and got ready for the day she took me to a lovely little café that was reasonably priced (something I haven't seen in a while lol :,) And I got this delicious little salmon Quiché. And then continued on into the Jardin de Luxembourg where Rachel did some tutor and I got sucked into the TikTok hole. Anyway afterwards we went down this street with a bunch of crêperies and it was really overwhelming to me because there were too many choices, but we ended up going inside this one that had giant crêpes (technically since it was savory it was a galette but whatever) it was so good.

I was so fool and then Rachel had class at the Sorbonne, so I had to loiter at the McDonald's it wasn't too bad I guess except for the fact that the basement level smelled like sewage and the "mocha" I ordered ended up being chocolate at the bottom of the cup that didn't melt/ mix well. Anyway, I learned that an American café and French cafés mean totally different things and honestly I prefer American... After that we went to her babysitting place, but first we had to look around the grocery story. But I enjoyed the babysitting job I like kids so it was fun to just be weird with them without being judged you know.

To end the night we ended up going to a movie showing and at the end the actor came out and it was wild (he was a cutie according to me, Malika, and Rachel). But it was kind of like déjà vu when he came out it was a very interesting experience. He started cursing towards the end and I don't think he realized the impact of his words though lol. In the end we ended up in front of Champs D'Élysée and I got this cool picture.

I realized that I was up for almost 24 hours and the sleep was much appreciated, but the unexpected happened. RACHEL SPLIT PERSONALITIES!!! She became so old weird lady I have a longer video if you so wish, but here's just a snippet of what I had to go through. But she showed me the rest of her thrifting haul which was cute I guess :p

We both got comfy cozy and fell asleep, but a few hours in I realized Rachel kept inching over, so I had to keep itching over until I was close to the edge lol. Anyway, the next morning we did not wake up on time and ended up being late for the day we "planned" but tbh I didn't mind I like having a general sense of things I want to do, but I don't care if I do or don't do them...you know? Anyway we found this really nice french café and honestly it was the best food I have had since being in Europe! I got this open face sandwich and it was so good, and I tried escargot... Anyway after that we went to this really cool museum that I wish I took more pictures of, but I think I got to enjoy the moment that way. I don't know why I love photography as an art form so much. My friend, Marina, pointed out that photography isn't that skill intensive because all they are doing is taking an image of something that already exists and essentially yes she right, but something about getting just the right angle, perfect lighting, and noticing/arranging things perfectly just inspires me so much! The worst of my time in Paris was the freak rain/wind storm it was so abrupt and these protesters had a lot of their costumes ripped apart by wind, it was sad, but me and Rachel sought shelter in this flower shop and I found this sent that every European man has in their bathroom. We tried to go to the Catacomb's, but the line was pretty long, so we went up to Sacre Coeur. It was so beautiful up there, and we got lucky and stumbled upon a mini concert. To end the night Rachel took me to this really tasty burger place and it tasted kind of American.

And I finally got a photo of the Eiffel Tower and even one of me in front of it (Rachel said that I needed to be in it because how can I prove that I was actually there, but ngl the photo looks like I was photoshopped into it anyway lol). We finally made it back to Jean's place and it was actually freezing in there. I tried to put my feet under Rachel, and she objected and then I called my mom to force Rachel to let me, but unfortunately my mom sided with Rachel :(. The saddest part was leaving. We woke up bright and early and I kinda slept in until Rachel told me to get up (I don't think I would've gotten up if she didn't say anything). We head off to the bus station and I got rid of the rest of my Euros at the vending machine which was nice. I got some peanut butter KitKat which was an interesting flavor. We met a BlaBla bus track star and I bid my adieu to Rachel. Once on the bus things got weird. First off they were yelling at this guy to move from the front seat, I had no access to Wi-Fi for all 8 hours, the wind kept pushing the bus sideways which was fine until we got to the mountains and it was literally being pushed off towards actual gorges, ravines, and mountainsides, and I took a picture of some windmills and the Italian man laughed at me uwu.

(Early morning views, there are two images)

Once back in Geneva I had a greater appreciation for the city. It's oddly enough starting to feel like a comfortable space. Granted the food isn't THAT good and everything closes at 5 pm, but nonetheless the people are nice, there is a nice community here (there are two shops that I know the workers), the clubs (the good ones) are fun, and I get to see the alps every day. But I had to grind! I needed to do some more assignments I neglected for four days. I got everything done, but I wanted to get ahead since for the next two weeks I will be having guess and I want them to feel comfortable and to show them a good time, you know. Anyway I decided to post on Instagram showing the arc-de-ciel (rainbows) of Geneva. I came into the city hoping to do this and so anytime I found a picture that elicit the feeling of these colors I took a photo and compiled them all together effectively making a rainbow. It was a fun "project" and I think I executed it well. Like I see red as domineering, regal, and demanding hence why I chose the beautiful ceiling. Next orange makes me happy, almost a color of wanderlust. Yellow is calm and placid much like the building it's unassuming but cute. Green I chose the plants because you know, life is green. Then blue is a color of having fun and trying new things much like I was doing (attending a random film festival). Finally, I chose the stain glass just because I couldn't find anything else purple and honestly I couldn't care less, I don't like the color and wasn't really trying hard to find anything in that color, but I really wanted to post.

Oh yeah, and my niece, Jazmine, lost her first tooth, and she was super stoked about it. I thought it was cute and I got to talk to all of my niblings. I always thought I favored one niece in particular, but I realized while talking to them that they are all my favorites and I miss them so much. Like I don't want to leave Geneve anytime soon, but when I do I will be so happy to see them!

P.S. I think this is my longest post

I’m glad you only said 30 min bc it was, in fact, longer I’m also glad you were productive while I was in tutoring 😉 also, you know the McDonald’s basement was not a good representation of French cafes ..... lol but yeah, I think some you can study in but I never do that... Good thing you got that sneaky pic 😍 for the sacré cœur photo wowzers that camera quality :-0 I didn’t know so much thought went into that rainbow post but I suppose the artists statement isn’t always explicit 🤪 Congratulations to jazmine and excited to see you so soon again luv *unicorn Animoji*
