Is That Cow Manure?

So, the day that I last posted, I hung out with Sebastian until the wee hours of the morning. Us being dumb forgot that we live in a railroad town and went down by the train tracks and guess what we saw! An endless train, but instead of turning around and going to the road that goes over the tracks, we decided to wait. But it started to take too long, so I got out and told Naoni to take some pics of, and we were all just listening to music. It was a chill vibe, until one of the series of carts started to smell like manure. And Sebastian was like, "Do you smell that?" and we were like.... "Yeah, it smells like cow poo!" But by the time it started smelling REALLY bad, we saw the end of the train and decided to run into the car before the cars on the other side tried to mow us down or before the smell took us out. In either case, as soon as it started, it ended. In the moment, I was really annoyed because living around a railroad means that the closest and most convenient roads are always being interceded by some super long (or worse, a parked train)...but it's moments like these that I'll miss when I move and get older. Someday, late summers nights doing something dumb will only get longer and longer in between until they stop. It's a sad thought, but somehow it makes me treasure these moments and remember to take advantage of any and all times that'll give me the chance to make a fond memory.

The only other really noteworthy thing that happened was that I went to the dentist to get the little thing in my mouth checked out by the surgeon. Next thing I knew, the guy was putting a needle through my tongue and cutting the thingie out. After like 15 minutes, I was walking out with stitches in my mouth. For these last couple of days, I've been barely able to eat without pain. The first day, the pain was giving me such a bad headache that I took the Codeine, and everyday I've been only able to survive and function due to the 800 mg of ibuprofen I've been taking. I can't brush my teeth because the pressure from brushing hurts, I have to rinse my mouth out in order to eat because food keeps getting stuck and tugging on the stitches, and for the first two days I could barely speak. The worst part about surgeries/injuries is that you never realize how much you use that part of your body until you can't. Like eating, I was like no biggie. I just need teeth to eat, right, that's what I thought. Until I would try to lick my lips, and it would pull on the stitch. When I would try to move the food in my mouth and nearly have to spit out the food because my tongue wouldn't move properly. I also learned that swallowing, you need to use your tongue! I can only sip on things and every time I do swallow...it's like it's creating a vacuum in my mouth, and it's literally TUGGING on my cut. Basically, I say this to say, that for the last couple of days I've been miserable, and my fave pastime of eating has been ruined by this impromptu surgery. I'm gonna be depressed and sad if this pain continues into next week, but I did notice that I have less of a lisp today than I have the other days...so that's progress I guess. It's just sometimes when you're in the middle of things, you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, which is what I'm experiencing right now. I just have to keep this in mind for the next couple of days.

What the, I responded to this post but for some reason it’s not here anymore so I make another comment: I liked the little train night pics we took! And I am sorry about your tongue but at least you won’t have any knots in your mouth anymore :D

Agreed….. people say sometimes its the small Things that matter…but truly everything matters…it is great that you appreciate and take the opportunity to create memories from the small things too! That is truly a skill! As for your tongue that was an unexpected horror but thankfully it is almost done and you can go back to life as usual with a new experience under your belt….although unpleasant still something to make you appreciate this under rated part of the body….So glad you are getting better and will be able to enjoy being a foodie before you leave the country! Love ya and Enjoy every single part of every single day and keep making memories!!! They are a great pass time for when…
