I Saw me Ma

I was practically shaking in my boots to see my mom this weekend. I remember before my train, I was literally sitting in my room all ready just sitting and waiting for the time to come to walk over to the train station. But Paris is literally my worst nightmare, and is totally different from where I live. Out here people are nice, helpful, and take life slow which is the total opposite of Paris!

When I first saw my mom, I was really anxious and rushing to get out of the train station (and I was a little rude to her 🙃). The first spot we went to was the Latin Quarters and Notre Dame, tell me why most stores were still closed at 10am. Then we headed over to the Louvre and walked SO MUCH. My mom's feet started swelling! Then we headed over to the Catacombs and though she was scared, we kept her mind busy with all the information from the audio guide. Afterwards, we headed over to Palais de Tokyo, but her feet were hurting her too bad, so we decided to skip it and sit at Sacre Coeur. The view from Sacre Coeur never gets old and is my favorite spot in all of Paris. I love the ambiance, the slower pace, and the good food and atmosphere! We ate some gelato and went to another restaurant in Montmartre where I had French onion soup, and she had ravioli. Both were good, and she got to learn how to clean a plate the French way.

Then Saturday we woke up bright and early and headed over to Etretat, and lemme tell you, I was blown away by the town. It's a small and everyone seems to be taking it slow. And the beach was covered in smooth round rocks that made a nice calming sound when the waves washed over them. And then we did a very slow and gentle hike with my mom to see the cliffs. She's afraid of heights, but she pushed herself and got to see some really nice views of the cliffs.

Sunday we ate some DELICIOUS Moroccan food (I love Moroccan mint tea), walked around Evreux a little, and sat by the river and had a mini picnic (most desserts and Japaense canned coffee), and I sadly walked to the station alone and made my long journey back home.

Overall, my weekend was fantastic and can't wait to see my mom again! I also asked her to bring some Reese's Cups and Hot Cheetos to share with my students and teachers. And got some Jerk Sauce to make for a dinner party with my fave teacher! I'm so excited to make it with her 😌

Lovely, lovely weekend! Honestly, the pics make it look picturesque 😻😻 I too was a bit short with her admittedly, but I had short patience because of my upcoming mensie 🤪 (I feel bad about it too). But yeah, overall a great week with the mom :)
