I was talking with the other smithies in the program, and we believe that the Smith Geneva program is like living at 3x speed. It's crazy to think that I have been here all ready for two weeks! I have been discovering the city a lot by foot since I don't have Wi-Fi everywhere and it has been nice to get lost and to find my way around. This weekend we went to the countryside of Switzerland and it was wild! The alps out there are amazing! They were huge in one of the pictures I took you can see an ant sized village at the foot of it for scale of how huge these mountains are. Honestly I have never seen something so beautiful and for the first time of my 20 years of life I was almost moved to tears by nature and her beauty. It was amazing. We made a pit stop near the top of the mountain and saw a mini air balloon festival and I got to try raceclette which wasn't anything special but it was good along with a savory crêpe that had Gruyère and onions it was wild how good it was. We continued up the mountain and made it to the village. There's a Swiss tradition of staying in these things called Chalets where it's an over glorified bread and breakfast. The only problem about the chalet that we went to was that they were German so it was kind of hard to talk to them because they barely spoke French. Nonetheless, we were offered a sleigh ride and it was nice, I never had done that before and never on snow lol. Anyway we made a pit sop and had warm wine and it tasted so good. I had two cups, but I had to tell the lady I don't want anymore because she kept trying to refill my cup lol. Then we had dinner which was nice. Now here's the kicker. I drank a whole bottle of wine by myself. I'm not proud of it but I didn't want it to take up space in my suitcase and I'm a germaphobe, so I didn't want to share it with anyone. It was nice and fun in the beginning, but towards the end it was bad. I threw up, but was able to make it back to my room and sleep. The next day I woke up and was ready for the day without a hang over like the other girls. I was thinking about how this was possible, but my mom pointed out that I drink a lot of water, and I was drinking water all day and I had a meal beforehand, so I think this saved me ;)). For the end of the excursion we went to Gruyère, the town of the world-famous cheese it was so cool and beautiful. Along with castle that we went to. And finally we went to a chocolate factory and I got make it chocolate bar I think it tasted good, but we will see how actually tastes later ;)
Aside from the excursion I have been going to class. I have been a little frustrated with where I am at in my French class, so I took a test in like 5 minutes because I thought I didn't understand it, but I did pretty well! So I'm feeling a little better about where I stand in the class. Also, I love my professor he's adorable anyway I am sad for these three weeks to end because I'll never see him again lol. Oh yeah! And I found this bubble tea shop, and I am becoming friends with one of the workers. He's Chinese but his nationality is Brazilian, but he lives in Geneva. It's very interesting, and he knows, as he said it, 4.5 languages: Some French, English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Spanish. He also told me he was lonely because he has no friends in Geneva. But there was only three of us Smithies, so I thought it was nice he told use this. The next I came back with like 10 people, and we rushed them, but the service was good and at the end he gave us 4 coins to use the claw machine for free it was fun, but I think the machine is jinxed because we dropped the plushie 3 times. Other than that life has been chill and I'm really in love with this city. Might live her after I graduate!
P.S. Pray for Sebastian he has tonsillitis :0
Switzerland looks really nice :000
Et oui les raclettes est d’accord mais ce n’est pas très spécial. Et pas vraiment le réchauffement climatique affecte les gens ici. Il pleuvait pendant j’étais là et apparemment les peasants n’obtient pas la même salaire que dans le passé
Wth lol
Also I’m glad the hex i casted on Sebastian is working
Really living the Swiss life I see 👀 raclette, chocolat, les montagnes, les chalets, t’as tous !
