It seems like a short post week for everyone, so I will be a trend follower and also keep it short and sweet (also I was planning to do this anyways.... but it's a convenient excuse hehe).
This past weekend was thankfully long because of Labor Day! I thought I could/would go into work anyways and use the time off later, but there was nothing scheduled at the hospital so it was a lost cause. Anyways, I ended up being thankful for the extra day of rest. I think I'm coming up on weekends where I'll be more chill like I wanted. Friday, I saw Mary and we had amazing boba (iykyk) and some NY 'za. Saturday I had a doctor's appointment and saw TWO movies with Kenzie (Nope and Emily the Criminal! Both were good, neither blew my socks off :( but I guess you guys would be happy that I kept my socks on. Speaking of socks, I experienced a Uniqlo sock scam, but that's an undramatic tale for another time...also not really a scam but I was still really annoyed so they're cancelled).
Sunday I just ran several errands with Kenzie (including going to Uniqlo where I experienced the *not technically a scam* that got them cancelled). And Monday I hung out with the famous Uncle Philip. We got coffee near where he lives...and then I made us both a dalgona coffee since the boba from Friday got me on a dalgona kick. BUT this was a major error I think. I didn't realize the coffee from before had 4 shots of espresso and the dalgona was STRONG. I normally don't consider myself very caffeine sensitive, but this had me off my rockers. When I got home I swear I was in a different state of mind o_o. And I was tired but alllll night couldn't sleep. Work the next day was NOT fun. I think I learned my lesson :( I am not as invincible as I once believed. A mere human unfortunately.
Anyways, work was uneventful so far this week. Yesterday, my friend Emily told me she won the Broadway lottery for a show called Hadestown. I'd heard the name but didn't know anything about it. But it turned out being really cool! It's a modernish (well I guess set in Industrial America sort of thing, like 20's or 30's) retelling of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. PJO fans, please stand. The guy playing Orpheus was....not my favorite tbh but the actress who played Eurydice must have been blessed by Apollo himself... which is awkward since Orpheus is supposed to have the heavenly voice. Anyways, they did a great job with the stage and costumes and the whole shebang!
Tomorrow is going to be a long day since I'm starting my pottery classes!! I'm nervous but excited. It's wheel pottery so I know it's not gonna be easy, but it'll be so cool to learn a new skill :D
Duuuuuude be my friend, you are so cool: crotcheting and now pottery?!! What is next for you :0 And I love the coffee story, I learned at a young age the dangers of too mcuh coffee-- me and Aboni were making a "fancy" breakfast for ourselves in middle school and when we made the pot of coffee we filled the coffee paper to the brim for only like 4 cups and we were WIRED. At first it was funny and then it started getting scary cuz we couldn't catch our breaths and our hearts were beating out of our chests, it felt like we were having heart attacks and felt as though we were gonna die any second 😂 (but we…
wth, you're learning a bunch of trades like a true Jack :p...pottery sounds super cool, but Hadestown does sound interesting. Might excuse the medium of it being a musical to watch/listen to. But I do hope you get some zzz's in and can relax. But it's super cute that you are hanging out with your uncle and sis, I mostly babysit or running errands for my family T_T
