As I type this up right now I am relaxing on a hammock with a nice breeze and a good new friend. This last week has been a whirlwind. For starters I went to adventure land which was so much fun. It was the first amusement park that wasn't for six flag in a while. It was refreshing to scream and relax with my friends. Then, I got drunk for the first time and boy was I not expecting it I chugged down some red wine not realizing that my tolerance would be lower since I didn't eat nor did I drink water.
At first I felt really warm, then slightly dizzy. Next thing I knew I couldn't bite my tongue like I was saying some things I didn't want people to know. I also couldn't hold up my head. Luckily I had a friend who was a real one and let me lean on him so I could watch comedic gold. What could this gold be? Why it would scary movie 3. Anyway, everything was so much funnier (though I don't need alcohol to know that). Then I had a mock interview and the first one I bombed. I couldn't think, speak, or even look people in the eyes. They didn't have nice feedback for me. I then had to give myself a mini pep talk and went in for my second mock interview and let me just say I don't think my grades or MCAT score will get me into medical school but I know my interview will. They said that I had a "very engaging personality", "mature view of oneself" and "appeared very confident and not nervous at all!" It boosted my self-confidence and overall self-esteem! Next I had a presentation to do. It was stressful. And I was shaky, but whatever I lived. Now I am free and able to breath for a little bit.
Then I have to finish packing, go to Massachusetts, change timezone, and be prepared to live at Smith College until December. Me and Rachel will be together so hopefully I will have a crazier story for you next week.
Go coocoo, go crazy in Noho! I’m glad you ended your program nicely :))
Wow that's good to hear that your interview got such positive feedback!! Glad you had such a good time in your program and excited to hear about what kinds of shenanigans you and Rachel get up to in Noho :-)
this sounds like a nice wrap up to your program :-) and I'm proud that you improved so dramatically in your interviews! I hope that I can learn to do the same..... haha see you really soon !!
