CNY was this weekend, and it was the first time I celebrated with people properly. I wore red, burned some stuff for "ancestors"...they were burning paper iPhones and Jewelry for their ancestors and I thought it was kinda silly and so did the younger people. They were laughing and saying, don't forget to burn some Wi-Fi, so they can use that too. I also ate a piece of this giant pig, it didn't taste good...but it was all a part of CNY, so I didn't mind trying it.
My host sister and I went on a nice little bike ride and came across these beautiful rice field. I kinda miss my other site for this reason. It had miles and miles of rice fields as far as the eye could see. In Siem Reap, living off a highway, I'm just not as connected to nature as I was before. So when I saw them it made me happy, and I had to take a pic.
Other than that, scheduling was a nightmare due to a new teacher getting hired on Monday and no one told me that she was taking over all the classes that the teacher I was planning with was teaching. So I made the (easy) decision to work with the new teacher, because I didn't want to change classrooms nor times. That meant that this week I didn't have to go in during the morning and I only taught from 2-5pm, so it was chill all week. Today I went to Siem Reap proper and ate some BK and got a delicious massage. It felt so good, this man put the moves on me, and I wasn't disappointed it was so good, that I paid him the equivalent of the massage in tip. I will definitely be back to see that dude! I also got the chance to buy some final organizing things, so my room is complete and I feel so happy. That's about it this week.... I'll chat with y'all next week :))
I could’ve sworn I responded to this— I must’ve spoken on the phone about your post but anywayyys :/

Hopefully you'll have more opportunities to discover nature nearby or maybe if you go to another town nearby?
