From this day forward, I am officially a student once again. I started taking Physics 2 at a college near my work. It's evenings and it's a bit rough with the lateness, but I think I'll make it out alive (I'm a night owl but that means I like to stay up goofing off in my room... not working or being out late on the streets). Since Wednesday classes are my latest, I'm sure you'll hear frequent updates during my posts haha. There's also Sunday morning lab, but I'm gonna try and make the most of things. I think it's good that it'll force me to get out of the house, right?!
Anyways, besides that, this past week has been devoted to Naoni <3 She came over unexpectedly and I had much more interesting end of week/weekend because of it :) Since I had work and I was working the later shift, we didn't get to hang out so much Thursday and Friday.
[Naoni's early morning arrival and the curry I subjected her to the first few days.... I think she liked it but yeah I've been eating it all week still]
But Friday night we had some yummy paella! Naoni picked it out. We were in Hell's Kitchen, so after we tried to find dessert around the area. It was pretty late for dessert places by then so we didn't have much luck. We tried a few places actually and the only one that panned out was boba. It was pretty yummy I have to admit. We were very stuffed after that though.
Friday night, Naoni went to May's place to spend the night. I was burned out from the week so nothing much happened in her absence.... I just worked a little on my sweater.
[Saturday, we had a late start (my fault), but we met up at the MET. These were some noteworthy pieces. Zach hooked us up with some tickies! I like going to museums with Naoni, she has good commentary. Whenever I see a statue or piece of art with Artemis/Diana, I have to take a picture. She's my favorite <3 We were also wondering why they had to add bellybutton and nipples to the armor.... like just why]
[walking we saw these fun art chairs. The space one is crochet and the spaghetti one... speaks for itself. The macarons were at this place I like called Bibble and Sip. It was quite disappointing this weekend though. This was one of the places that closed right as we approached after paella. And we tried again bc I really like their cream puffs but they had NO MORE cream puffs >:(. Just gonna have to keep trying. They did have these cute Lunar New Year macarons though :0 didn't get any but they were cute.]
[Friday night while dessert hunting, we also happened upon this new Singaporean "street market" place around Times Square. I had a bowl and Naoni had some noodles. She really was into the chili oil but flew too close to the sun. She didn't want to admit it but it had her tearing up]
[after dinner, we tried some stuff from Magnolia Bakery. I think this was my first time! I got a mocha cheesecake and I would definitely get it again :D We hung out in my room watching Youtube videos and trying out my new face mask. It makes you look like concrete Squidward. Naoni had to leave super early the next morning.... so I didn't really help that situation... but it was really fun :D My sleep was out of whack and I stayed up all night until she left. I was reading Gone Girl. I'm almost done and I really have been enjoying it! I feel like I've heard so much about it but for me it's living up to the hype]
Sunday was the Lunar New Year! I celebrated with Mary, Nicole, and Zach downtown. I tried hotpot for the FIRST time! It was scrumptious, a nice treat and way to ring in the new year. Year of the rabbit!! Year of the bunny :D I also need to find a more permanent red accessory. For the time being I've just been wearing red things randomly. I always liked being year of the rabbit because they are so cute. Here's to a good year!
The beginning of the week my mind was fixated on getting these heart shaped macarons from Trader Joe's. I did it! And they did not disappoint. I also got tulips this time for my room, and I thought they were so pretty in bloom.
Seeing Naoni in the year of Naoni....blessed. let's go rabbits!! 새해 복 많이 받으세요.
The macarons are so cute and so are all these piccies :D I wanna try the singaporean noodles maybe i would die. And I am glad you liked hot pot!!
Im excited for you! Finally completing your track, making med school even more of a reality! Good luck :’)))
The curry was my fav dish I had while up there! And the waffles was my fav dessert ❤️❤️❤️ Rachel food>>>
I like going to museums with you too 🥹— it was actually you and Erin that introduced museums going as a thing I could actually do and enjoy (in my fam we always treated museum going as a fancy thing to do, so i never thought I could ever just casually go). But the nipples did make me uncomfy, I definitely could’ve done without them, but maybe the Greeks (or was it Roman??) would’ve thought it was weird to not…
Naoni seems to make your weekends hectic in a fun way. I'm glad you guys got to hang out, it makes my heart warm :)...and ofc the food looks delicious 😋
