Back into things

I’m back in Paris now, and things have been calm but nice :-). Well actually since getting here I’ve been a bit sick, but it’s the kind of sickness you can continue going about the day but it’s just really annoying. It must be something about the city because I also was sick when I first came here... maybe I’ll allergic to Paris. Anyhow, I hope to get over it soon :’(

To recap the last week:

I didn’t talk about this last week even though it had happened already but it was because I wrote my post ahead of time. But for New Years it was so fun bc we did karaoke and lit fireworks :-)

We celebrated kristiana’s 21st birthday the next day! We mostly were at home until her dad came back. Then we went to a nearby city, Regensburg. It was a really cute place and we ate a vegan/vegetarian cafe! The fake meat wasn’t the best I’ve had but it wasn’t bad either.

The next day, both me and Kristiana had to travel back to Paris and London respectively. She had a flight from Munich airport which is 2 hrs from their home. So quite a bit of driving. On the way back I was dropped off in Nuremberg, where my bus was leave from. The bus situation was NOT fun... it was 10 hours. I thought I would be able to weather it because I was overnight and I could sleep, but actually I could barely sleep! Two hours in I got to the point of counting down the time and you know how much more excruciating it makes time pass 😓. I did eventually make it home though!

Another concern of mine is that my phone keeps randomly shutting off data and service so it makes things harder for navigating :/ I’ve been making it work and I guess I’ll keep having to make it work 🙃 (I believe it’s a problem with the phone, not the service or anything)

Some things I’ve done in Paris since:

Expo about this American artist, Francis Baconafter that I was in the mood to see a movie, so I saw what was on and picked a movie that would play soon. It ended up being this one called Benjamin. It was surprisingly good/ok considering I knew nothing about it going in!Moreee babysittingI had one more exam to take Tuesday. BUT the strikes here are still going on, and the exam was cancelled!? Well the department met today I think so it’s probably being rescheduled. It’s good bc I wasn’t ready for it but bad bc now I still have it on my list of things to care about.

Good luck to naoni, who will be traveling to Denmark very soon! 🍀

Thanks for the shout out Rachel! As for the whole phone thing, the same thing happened to me. Do you have iPhone 7? If so, you probably have a defective phone. It’s a manufacturing error and you have to call in about it and take it to the Apple store. If your phone is in smitten condition (no scratches or water/battery damage) they’ll fix for free. But if there is any damage they will give a “discount” for the repair. But I didn’t believe it was fair to pay so just harass them until they make it free (remain persistent, they’ll do it). Good luck!
