There are a bunch of cities where I think I'd enjoy living, and a lot of them sound sort of cliché, but hey, a girl can dream. The main places that I'm interested in are ones where, like Naoni talked about, there's good public transportation. And that happens to be big metropolitan areas. Public transport is a big one for me because I don't want to worry about having to drive around and also handle the responsibility of owning and upkeeping a car. Also, I feel guilty relying on cars or doing long commutes because of the environment. I realize that even if I'm not commuting that doesn't stop the fact that tons of other people are and polluting the air. But that comes down to the issue of personal impact....
Anyways, these are some cities that I would want to live in with all that in mind! In addition to the other pluses I speak of, in general I think I appreciate city life.
New York City
Pros : subway, always stuff to do (I'm not into night life so idk if that's a draw for me), good food all around, cultural center, rats
Cons : at least amongst the young people, I feel like there's a culture of networking and always "doing something" that can seem forced and artificial to me. I'm sure there are people who don't fall for that though...., price :/
Montréal
Pros : metro that's pretty clean, I can practice French, not as expensive as the others (right?), different government system (healthcare), distant from home but not toooo distant
Cons : far from home, idk how I could work here (like as a doctor) but I'll look into it
Paris
Pros : metro!!, slower way of life, more appreciative, cheaper healthcare
Cons : question of visa..., again, realistically if I'm a doctor this couldn't really happen, housing is so small but expensive (at least towards the center)
London
Pros : underground, really good food!, english speaking (even though I said French was a plus for the other places, it is nice to be able to fully articulate what you think and feel)
Cons : super expensive!!

I don't think Seattle has a very robust public transport system but maybe I'm mistaken. That's another city that I was interested in living in. It's partly because I'm a self-proclaimed rain lover.
Ever since high school another place that I've been interested in is San Francisco. I didn't talk about it earlier because I don't think their public transport is as good as the others. This place is also super expensive which is discouraging, but my family has visited before and it's just a really cool city to be in. I should visit again soon and see if I still feel the same way about it... I know there's a large Asian population there, which would be interesting and different for me. Lowkey I'm also scared because I feel like it's only a matter of time before there's another huge earthquake there.
I notice with a lot of these themes I don't give a really straight, definite answer. So to be less wishy-washy, I'll just say, if I HAD to pick a city to live in, then it would be..... Montréal! So sounds like I'll catch a few of you cool cats there too. But for real, I would want to go to medical school there. Upon further research though, I'm not sure how realistic that is because I think they only take 2 international students per class :( Here's to dreaming though. In fact all those cities have good, therefore competitive, medical schools :/
If I had to choose a city within the US, it would be New York! Which borough, I have no idea. Maybe I'd have to be one of those people that live in New Jersey and commute in.
In other news, I just came back from the dentist. I was worried I had a cavity but thankfully that isn't the case. I have some pain though, so I think it's my wisdom teeth and that means I'll have to have them removed soon. But it's a good time if any to do that, right?
Lastly, I recommend dalgona coffee if any of you haven't tried it! I'm not a coffee person but this stuff is delicious.
haha I like that rats are a nyc pro for you. it's interesting to hear your outlook on all of these cities. I do love a city with good public transport. also love the pics–what a photogenic human!
and about the wisdom teeth...you might as well get them removed if you need to. quar is a good time for recuperating from that anyways
What the! My comment didn’t send, I’m just gonna send an abridged version: 1)Montreal is a good choice ;) 2)your pics are cute 3)I agree with you, I think public transportation is very important!! 4)I am glad you don’t have any cavities
If you have a good enough dentist the surgery won’t be bad and recovery should take lime 3-4 days! Also y’all Montréal lovers are interesting lol. I didn’t realize y’all liked it so much when we were there. Do you remember when we were standing outside and missed the bus and it was so cold we took shelter inside the laundry room! Then imI thought if it so cold i can’t really stand outside how would i do laundry in this cold!
