To Bag Milk or Not to Bag Milk

Soooooo if I had one place to live it would undeniably be Montréal! There are several places that I have visited in my days that are quite nice but a lot of them I can only see myself temporarily living. Montréal is the only place I can see myself moving to tomorrow and spending the rest of my days there happily. For starters, Montréal is so accessible in terms of transportation. There seemingly was a metro or a bus that could take you anywhere thus protecting the environment (which is pretty important to me) and I won’t have to worry about the maintenance and I expenses of a car. Plus not only is everything accessible by public transportation, but it is also good transportation! Everything is so smooth and clean and timely. Then aside from that, there is a lot of benefits to living there such as “free” heating (and if I’m not wrong, free utilities too but again I could be wrong), “free” healthcare,“free” childcare, hugely subsidized college fees, and so much more! So I can live in a community comfortably knowing that everyone is trying to support each other to live humanely. Something else I like about Montréal is its bilingual-ness. I think it’s cool that I can practice my French while forever having a safety-net knowing that if I just feel like it or don’t know a word, I can switch to English. And when I have kids, they could teach me more French and keep me fresh. Then there are so many food options: there are so many different restaurants, cute cafes, and cultural markets to go to which I find very important as a big food fan. Oh! And then there is the climate! I have expressed this earlier, but I’ve come to appreciate living in harsh cold areas. I feel like harsh cold areas force you to get out there in the summer and just appreciate the outdoors more than other areas (plus there are less bugs in colder areas).

But yeah, Montréal is the place for me. I love it so much even despite some of its flaws. Unfortunately, my family do not see how great Montréal is and don’t want to live there so I’ll probably never actually live there T-T. However, I am willing to make that sacrifice especially since I see all the issues that arise from living far away from family. So yeah: c’est ça.

Alrighty ladies, have a good week and as usual, I leave you guys with some highlights from this week :)

I saw the ISS (that’s the little dot)
Took the MARTA (the Atlanta metro system), look how bare it is T-T
My sis and I were in front of a protest and the peeps behind found my nephews holding hands very cute
There was a random storm that came in and literally turned day into night
Went through another photo book today and found a pic of the short that made me start liking yellow
And here’s the start of me being a fashion icon

Okieeeee, byeeeeeee!!

@Emma, the map has cars are to let people know where you can park so that you can ride the metro. Like for a lot of Gwinnett people, we ride to Doraville or Indian Creek and park our cars before taking the metro around the city.

Wait do they have bagged milk in Montreal?

After living in Copenhagen I know exactly what you mean about the cold making you appreciate the outdoors more. It wasn't even thaaat cold in Copenhagen (except when it was windy) but because it was gray all the time whenever the sun was out I was like wow everything is so beautiful!! Montreal does seem super cool. It seems like it has a balance between being fast paced and cozy.

Love the pics. It's fun finding things from your childhood that help explain why we are the way we are. Also why does the MARTA have some stops with cars on them?

wahhhh I wrote a whole comment but accidentally went back and deleted it T_T. I'll try to recall what I said before...

Cute pictures!! I like your reasons for choosing montreal <3 I was surprised to hear that you're at peace (appreciative even) of harsh cold, but I suppose that's the best weather for hygge. I know you said you'd never live there in reality probably, but to that I say, never say never. Living somewhere doesn't have to necessarily be a permanent change. I'm just saying I hope you get to do it if it's even for a month. We only have one life to live! But you're also right that family is important
