Raging Roma

Soooo the long and the short of it is that I am not a fan of Italy (at least so far, I don't want to speak too soon). But I guess I expected coming to Italy would provide me an escape from all the woes I had with France however the opposite happened. Being in Italy made me realize how actually good France is. Aside from the balant and overt racism that I have experienced that has quite hoenstly been overwhelming and shocking, the lack of order and structure with basic things like mass transit as well as the lack of variety in the food is really taking a toll on my experience here... Also, Aboni and Erin not feeling well has helped the mood-- not in a "they are being a burden" kind of way but more in a "I can't even say at least we are making the most of it" kind of way. Nonetheless, I have had some good experiences and there are a lot of cool historical stuff to see. When I originally made my itinerary for here I was like "jeeez there isn't much to do" but the longer I am here and the more we walk around, the more I begin to realize that I will probably never see all that Italy has to offer since with each new turn, there is always something to be discovered. So for that, I understand the appeal of the city (though for the reasons I listed above, I will probably never visit here again 🥲) .

My teachers took me out to dinner at this really fancy restaurant, it was nice :)

Me and Erin walked around Turin for our layover and almost got stuck there :')) (top 10 most stressful moments)

My first True Italian Pizza :)

Teheh

3 out of the 4 reunited :)

Ngl, I really thought the SPQR thing was just a Percy Jackson thing 😂

Colosseum ✅

Saw the arc of Constantine!

The Roman Forum too!

And the Trevi Foun-TAIN

The Spanish Steps :D

Stumbled upon a cute little street

And stumbled upon a huge basilica (look how small Aboni is in comparison)

This is the Baths of Caracallan which is apparently the 2nd largest baths in Rome!

Also, we saw Rome's old North gate!

And me and Aboni leveled up once again in out PJO fan status after seeing the River Tiber

The metro we have been taking (we have mostly just been taking the A line everywhere tbh)

Saw my queen Thalia 🥲

Saw the longest hall in the Vatican, amongst other things ;)

I saw this in the Vatican and it reminded me of Lilth from the anime I watched recently

Highkey obsessed with the Bruschetta 😻

Had my first Italian coffee and tried Cacio e pepe that I ate with my bare hands as photographed (not really, but what if 👀)

Had my first gelato :D

But yeah, it is late and me, Aboni, and Erin have to wake up at 5am to catch our train to Naples, or Napoli as the locals call it. Ciao!

Like the pics. Though, how do you feel about Rome after staying here for another week and everyone felt 100% better? Also in the picture with the metro you can see the racism with the hardcore stares lol
