As I write this, there is a weird squirrel starring at me through the blinds
Anyway, my days have been slow and chill. I wake up with Aboni and we eat breakfast together and then split up: she goes to work and I go to Young Library. There I work on my study abroad essay and chat with Rachel on occasion when I need a break before eating lunch and heading to work.
But being back at Smith has shown me how beautiful this campus truly is. There are so many flowers, green grass, and butterflies (not gonna lie I have grown to like the little, white butterflies (but only those, the other ones can die)) that really brings this campus to life. The beauty of the outdoors has pulled me out of the confines of freezing cold buildings to spend more time appreciating nature be it sitting in the garden or taking the long way home.
Anyways, as the day goes and evening approaches, I do something “interesting”. So last Tuesday, I went to trivia with Aboni, Rachel, and some of their friends. We were pretty bad and were at a tactical disadvantage especially with the alcohol round, but all the same it was fun and we won third place. Our prize was $20, so with that money we are heading back to trivia tonight. We are gonna eat good and win something again!
Then on Wednesday, Aboni, Isabel, and I began a new series as we wait for next year to resume 90 Day Fiance (we have to wait for Erin to come back before we can watch it again T-T). The show is called Power. It kinda sucked at first, idk why we continued watching. But at some point it suddenly got good. We watch an episode or two almost every night, and after each session I craze for next one.
On Thursday, we had a dance “party”. Aboni and I taught Rachel a little something something. So now she is prepared to throw down a move or two at her French parties. Then Aboni and I learned how to do a few new twerk moves of our own, though we have to practice them a little more.
Friday, I really don’t know what happened. Did I even exist that day?
Then on Saturday, Aboni and I went to the optometrist to get our eyes checked. My vision is pretty good and it didn’t change so that made me happy. Then afterwards, we, along with Selah and Isabel, went to the Pie Bar. It was a really nice ride and the pie was worth it. Selah convinced me to share a peach pie with her and I was pleasantly surprised that peaches could be good in pie!
On Sunday, Aboni and I decided to take the bike trail and ride it all the way to Amherst. It was really fun! There was a stunning view of the mountains and of farms. The sun combined with the breeze made the ride peaceful, I wasn’t sweating and dead by the end of it. But the trip ended with us at Vivi’s where we worked for a few hours before taking a bus back to Smith.
Later that day, Rachel came back from New York. She brought back cupcakes which I thought was very sweet of her (hehe, see what I did there). Then we started being weird. We acted like Rachel was at a five star restaurant while she was eating her makeshift meal and me and Aboni acted like her waitresses. We gave her water in a tequila glass and served it to her with a oven towel on our arms. Even though it was really weird and random (we were basically LARPing (Live Action Role Playing for all you noobs), I think those are the kinds of memories that will last with me.
Then yesterday, Monday, I made my final edits to my study abroad essay and am waiting for Queen B to read it one more time and give me her approval so I can turn it in (I really hope my responses are good enough for me to get accepted T-T)! But doing all this study abroad stuff has made me think about my lovely friends that will be going next semester, Erin and Rachel. I hope they both thrive and have fun. I am really excited to hear about all their new/exciting adventures that are soon to come.
And as this week goes on, I am becoming increasingly clingy, especially to Rachel who is leaving in T minus two days T-T (so I have been lowkey/highkey super annoying (sorry Rachel T-T)). But I can’t get enough of her company, she is such a fun-loving child and I love her energy so much: I am truly an Estrera Head (coined by Erin) <3 and I am going to miss her a lot.
But that's it folks. Take care of yourself and do good!
*white butterfly voice*: rip to the other butterflies but i'm different
#estreranation
a couple things
1) I am truly shocked and surprised that you like butterflies a little now
2)the twerk video lady is iconic; can't wait to bust out those moves
3) I know you'll be mad by this comment but how do you, a Georgonian , not appreciate peach in pie
4) always have time for my loyal estreraheads 😘
