Hello all, I am back!! A lot has happened since last: I somehow graduated, dabbled in some research, got a job teaching English in France, improved my french (my listening comprehension mostly), traveled some, improved my health, learned how to do a style or two, being a better person, and much more. Did I think I could even do half of this when starting this blog 2 years ago??? NOPE, so for that I am pretty proud of myself and I hope young Naoni thinks I am the coolest because of all of this :)
Speaking of young Naoni, my mom just gave me my Kindergarten teacher's email and am I am excited to email her. I was quite surprised that she even remembered me since I didn't/couldn't speak and was perpetually scared of everyone (I honestly don't know why I was so scared but I viscerally remember my heart constantly pounding hard, my hand being constantly sweaty, and darting my eyes around to see what my classmates were doing). But she told my mom that I was apparently the most shy kid that she has ever had and that says something cuz she has been teaching since my class/my class was her first year teaching. But as for her, I remember she was really nice, especially to me. A lot my classmates and other kindergartners thought she was the nicest kindergarten teacher and I remember feeling lucky that she was my first teacher. I can't wait to tell her that she had a positive influence on my life and she was the one that made me feel safe and trust with teachers and honestly was one of the my favorite teachers-- honestly all of my elementary schools were awesome and had an impact on me in one shape or form (except my second 5th grade teacher, she was butt).
Aside from that what else has happened??? Oh! I have been introducing my students to jeopardy and they seem to really like it and hoenstly it is making my time at work even more fun! I think it is really funny when they start yelling at each other when they want to steal another teams points, screaming when they lose, and going crazy when they win. I think I am going to move away from ppts like the teachers want and just simply do interactive stuff. I think it is better this way cuz with ppts I would try to ask questions throughout to prompt them to speak but with games they have to think on the spot which simulates real conversations I think which is the point of me being here right? Anyways, if you guys have any ideas please share :))).
Kind of a depressing end, but one of favs student is always getting bullied by other students and idk what to say/do because the other students say it "jokingly" but you can tell that he isn't happy with the jokes (he'll become quiet and cast down or roll his eyes). Any tips?? Thanks in advanced!
Alright here is a vid that sums up the past month and a half!
I hope you all are doing well and ttyl!
lolll the bullying picture, once erin pointed it out I had to laugh out loud
The kindergarten teacher things is so cute :') please let us know what transpires, I have a lot of things I would love to tell my teachers from elementary school especially and even being an assistant I would love it if one of those kids told me down the line that I had even any sort of impact of them. Thanks for the reminder to try and contact some of my old teachers!
you guys were such cuties and I'll be honest, i won't even say my guess of who's who for fear of you know what
it's a good idea to do jeopardy! maybe…
Love the video and seeing what you've been up to :') I'm sure your kindergarten teacher will be so happy to hear from you and know what an impact she made. I'm not sure I know how to help with your student bullying situation (also why that picture lmao) :( Maybe just try to chat with him a bit when you can to try to learn a bit more about him, and then you can try to suss out how he might be feeling? I guess it would be bad to turn something into a situation if he wouldn't want that. But yeah, it seems like you've been connecting well with your students (I love the Jeopardy game I will…
