65 Beats per Minute

Hola mon amigos (I know it is wrong, I did it on purpose for stylistic purposes (so please don’t come after me (I have a smooth brain so it can’t take the abuse)))! Anyway, this week has been chill, and judging from my heart rate, hence the title, my body agrees. I think it has to do with the nature I received: I was able to enjoy some much needed nature before I went off with my class to play laser tag to understand the mindset of playing a fps game for my cyberpsychology class on Wednesday.

Not a single cloud in the sky :))
Very scenic

It was really fun to play, I enjoyed talking with the proctor of the game and defeating my prof at a stand-off.

This was the proctor, Benjamin, he was a very sassy and funny man. Apparently it has to do with his "Taurusness" as my classmates were saying. AS we were talking to him, we found out he didn't have a special nickname (all his friends just called him German) so we gave him the nickname "Bengerman" which he didn't like
My team finished last :')

After that though, it was back to Copenhagen to prepare a presentation. However, the day before the presentation my group mates and I decided to go to the rundetarn to see the sunset (which was quite magnificent) before going to a cafe to practice our presentation.

Inside the tower there are no stairs so you just walk up a spiral until you make it to the top
The sunset we caught
The peeps I got to enjoy the sunset with :)

Our presentation was on how to create a digital identity, specifically how to social media influencers successfully establish themselves as so. I chose to specifically analyze Kurtis Conner which was pretty fun as I was able to watch a bunch of his videos. But aside from the topic of the project being enjoyable, I also genuinely enjoyed working with the people in my group. They are all very kind, mature, and outgoing which is pretty surprising considering the rest of the people in my class who are generally immature to say the least.

The man, the myth, the legend

Anyway, after I gave my presentation I went over to a friend’s place to watch an episode of the bachelor, which was my first time. The show was very much like what I expected and it was fun to make fun of it.

While watching the bachelor, we ate some Danish pastry that I cannot spell or pronounce. She made this one :0

Later that night, me and Emma and her friends headed to this bar called the LA bar to dance. I had fun and I was able to meet this gal that was super nice and fun-loving and this dude that was pretty funny and outgoing as well as this boy that me, Emma, and her friends thought was definitely sixteen (though he promised he was nineteen).

The LA Bar (the peeps in the back aren't making out, people here just talk really close)

Then Saturday, I was finally able to wake up in time and have the energy to see the changing of the guards. It was a pretty cool experience and made me ponder how such a tradition that is pretty useless/dated is still being performed to this day, everyday single day.

Later on, I met with Emma and we headed to the red square to see what it was all about. The red square was pretty underwhelming unfortunately, it was literally just a little city square that was painted red. I guess I shouldn’t have expected much as the place was what it said it was but Idk, I thought there was going to be street art to look at and street food to eat but there was none of that ://. But there were these fun swings that me and Emma sat on for a while which made the trip worth it.

"Emma!" (said in Australian)

After that, me and Emma went to a cafe to do work and happened upon this interesting man. I know his name started with an L but it was some Danish name that was too complex for me to pronounce/remember. He was really cool and wise and he said that if he sees us again that he would buy us beer, which I thought was nice.

On Sunday, me and Emma met up with Asheley to Grød which is apparently a well known porridge place in Copenhagen. I was pretty skeptical about it because like it’s porridge you know? Nothing fancy, something you can literally make at home without breaking a sweat but I was completely shocked. The toppings on the porridge really made the porridge taste unique/special and the texture of the porridge was smoothness that I could never, EVER achieve. I definitely want to go back, and because the menu changes I don’t think I will get bored by it.

Mine had caramel, almonds, and apples which all surprisingly went well together

After eating, we took a walk through a cemetery.

The cemetery

But because it was super rainy and windy we decided to find something indoors to do and decided on exploring the ruins at the royal castle, called Christiansborg. This experience shedded even more light on the Danish history that I know little about.

One of the wells that the royals used for water
These are the ruins of the first remnants of Copenhagen

As for yesterday and today, I have been staying indoors because the weather has been U-G-L-Y. It is even more windy and harder rain than usual which makes staying in easy and going out difficult.

I made a stop at Starbucks to avoid the rain (and to get a stamp to get a free drink). I tried this hot chocolate that had a raspberry smoothie on top of it. It was delicious!

And today there was lightning and hail which made it unsafe to go out so I’ve been happily enjoying being a homebody. I have been being more responsive and active in texting and calling my friends and family since becoming a homebody these past two days.

Some of the leftover hail

But yeahhhh, that’s my weeek! I hope that you all are enjoying yourselves, I leave you guys with these random gems of mine!

This was a random little hovel to read inside of in Aarhus
You heard of milk in a bag, but have you heard of water in a box
