I only have 15 minutes before midnight, so I will add more to this post later— I promise :’)
As promised, I am adding meat to my post so it’s not all boney with 100 characters:
My week started off REALLY well. I was getting over my sinus infection and I had gotten ahead on my homework for the week so I was cruising. I finished a entire show called “End of the f****** world” (it’s amazing, highly recommend!) in one night
And started this Netflix original anime called “B the Beginning”. Originally it was just going to be a show that was going to be background noise for me to focus while I did homework but I kept hearing a lot of fighting (which is my favorite part about watching anime) so I was like what is going on? So I watched it until the fight scene was over, but it left me curious as to why the fight ensued. Thus, I rewinded it to the beginning and watched it through but I was still confused. It was a murder mystery show so watching the episode still left me confused. Therefore, I went to the beginning of the series and started actively watching the show and quickly got addicted. Because the show is short (it’s only 12 episodes), every episode is dense and always ends with more questions than answers. Which is MAD annoying when you have school. But surprisingly, I didn’t finish the show until after I got home (which means it took me a week to finish the show :0) but the show ended with a cliff hanger. However, there’s no second season which is unfortunate cause they really need to have a second season— I NEED ANSWERS!
Anyways, I went to the Experimentarium (a fun interactive kid’s museum) to watch kids. The objective was to observe kids experiencing social anxiety but I mostly just played. The museum was really cool: I honestly had too much fun there.
Afterwards, I went to the airport to pick up my oldest sister before going to my next class. I had a presentation during that time which went well, much to my surprise which made me happy. When class was over, I picked up my sis from the library and I took her to my favorite lunch place: fresh bagel. She kind of made a scene with the people working which was kind of awkward (she didn’t respect the cultural differences (in Denmark, they don't wear gloves when making food to save on plastic so it’s expected that you trust that the people making your food washed her hands)). Then we headed back to my place where I made dinner for my flatmates, my sister, and I to eat. It was very hygge :’) but that was the calm before the storm. My roommate was scrolling through her phone when she got the news and told us: because of the virus, Denmark was closing itself for two weeks. Then a few hours later we got the news that our program was consequently ending early.
One of my flatmates ordered a ticket immediately to go back home and then left to roam the streets and party the night away. Me and my other flatmates eventually calmed down and we watched a movie. The next day, me and my sister went to a good friend’s flat and had one last meal together before she left. After the meal, I decided to do stuff with my sis which was difficult because everything was closed. All we could really do was go to Christiania, a Freetown in Copenhagen.
The next day, we met up with Emma and hung out around town. We went to Nyhavn, the city trampolines, walked along the harbor, saw Tivoli, and did a little bit of shopping (my sis wasn’t impressed tho ://). After the long walk, me and Emma spent all our grocery card money on sushi and cake and cider. We headed back home and ate all the food and watched TV. We shared deep convos until late before going to sleep.
The day before I left, I went on a hunt for these snail pastries (that I usually can always find in any bakery). I eventually found them and inhaled them when I got back.
Then I was able to spend the evening with one of my closest flatmate. We watched a movie and chatted for a while before saying our final goodbye :’) which really made me realize that I was really leaving Denmark.
The next morning, I woke up at 2 am and embarked on my travels back home. I went on a two hour plane ride to Amsterdam, followed by an hour layover before a nine hour plane ride to Atlanta.
Once in Atlanta, I was screened along with everyone on my plane by the CDC. The process took an hour and a half. Everyone who was coughing and clearing their throats stopped: it was dead quiet until we were cleared. Luckily, my fever was gone when they tested me so I was cleared to go. I met up with my mama sitas and eventually Aboni and began my self quarantine. Yup, yup: that was my week. I hope everyone is doing well: vi ses!
that's more like it
I actually have seen an episode of the first show you talked about. Yeah, it was pretty good and I might go back to it one day, but I might not... tv shows haven't been captivating my attention much these days :/
Yeah, once everything started closing, it's wild how quickly things ended. It's sad hearing about Tarene visiting because I.. didn't get to 😭 but mark my words you will show me around one day and we'll have hygge times. It was lucky at least that she got to visit ! in the nick of time
It's also quickly I've accepted the fate of being home and here to stay
Beautiful sunrise and I’m glad you were able to enjoy your last little bit of time in Denmark. Now we gonna party it up in America!
Umm, you didn’t add anything
bro... i know you've been home all day, what could you have been doing
